Sea Buckthorn Paste
Its composition includes fatty oils (up to 30 %), containing a mixture of glycosides of oleic, stearic, linoleic, linolenic, palmitic, and myristic acids; vitamins: carotenoids (90 mg%), tocopherol (50 mg%), ascorbic acid (200 mg%), folic and nicotinic acid, group B vitamins, provitamin A, vitamins Е, F and Р; mineral substance, organic acids (malic, citric, tartaric), flavonoids, anthocyans, isorhamnetin in glycoside form etc
Enriched with essential fatty acids from sea buckthorn seeds: linoleic (18:2ω-6) and linolenic (18:3ω-3), their contents are 30-40 and 20-35 %, respectively. Other essential fatty acids contained in seeds are oleic (18:1ω-9, 13-30%), palmitic (16:0, 15-20%), stearic (18:0, 2-5 %), vaccenic (18:1ω-7.2-4 %) acids.
Due to the effects of linoleic and linolenic acids, vitamins, phospholipids, and plant sterols, sea buckthorn decreases serum cholesterol level and thus inhibits atherosclerotic process development
